By now, everyone and their mothers must already know the following: Ateneo are the UAAP Season 73 Men's Basketball Champions. It's a sweet victory as the Katipuneros clocks in the third win in three years.
While FEU came out strong in the beginning, ending the first quarter with a 22-13 lead—the Tams had to win this second game to force the would-have-been dramatic third in UAAP's best-of-three Finals format—the Eagles would hear nothing of the idea.
The heroics of Ryan Buenfe, goes beyond his three-pointer at less than 30 seconds of the game. Tied at 54 all, Buenafe spewed 10 straight points to give the Blues the lead, 64-59. The glorious 3-pointer was but icing on their cake.
“Definitely this is the most difficult championship we’ve won in the last three years, There were doubters and there were critics, but luckily for me, my players have big hearts,” Inquirer quotes Ateneo's Coach Norman Black.
Hmm. We smell bonfire. Check out the gallery below to see all the action.
